Question for Mr. Shields: Who
came up with Salem Stars Shine? from Amanda Krantz
Answer: Salem Stars SHINE is a character education
program that was originated in concept and basic structure by our Compact
for Learning Committee at Salem during the 2009-2010 school year. That
committee is made up of parents, teachers, a paraprofessional, and me.
It was then put into implementation by a committee made up me and several
Salem teachers after more extensive conversations with the staff. The
program is in its first year and we expect it to evolve over time. I
have invited all parents to come to my conversation on this topic on
Wednesday evening, February 9th, at 7PM in the school library.
