What's Happening at Salem

Scrip Fundraising Program

We are pleased to offer you another opportunity to shop using our SCRIP program. Replenish your supply of store cards and shop for upcoming gifts that you need. SCRIP provides a convenient way to do your gift and household shopping while earning money for Salem! Please feel free to share SCRIP with your family and friends, you can download additional forms below. SCRIP orders are due by Monday, March 12th. Your gift cards will be ready for pick up on in the cafeteria during dismissal on Friday March 16 and Monday 3/19.

The Brain Show/Family Dinner: On Friday, March 2nd, the Fifth Grade will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner and The Brain Show at Salem from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.! The Brain Show, a real live game show, is the hottest new interactive trivia game show in the country and is a big hit with all ages. The Brain Show is educational, entertaining and promises to be a great night of family fun. The Spaghetti Dinner will start at 6:30 and The Brain Show will run from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost of the show and dinner is $10 per person. After the show, desserts and coffee will be available in the cafeteria for an additional cost. We also will be selling tickets for some great raffle items (the raffle will include tickets to a taping of the Martha Stewart Show, a $100 Gift Card to Bobby Flay’s Bar Americain and much more). So mark your calendars and come out and have fun with other Salem families at The Brain Show! We hope to see you there.

Salem Social:The Salem Spring Social is SATURDAY, March 24th at H on the Harbor, starting at 7:30pm. Social is unique because it offers an opportunity to spend a night out as couples and catch up with other Salem parents in a fun setting while supporting Salem School! The Brain Show: Volunteers are needed to help out with our Spaghetti Dinner/Brain Show. We will be doing a dessert bar and coffee bar after the show, as well as making spaghetti at school. If you have ever wondered what it is like to work in a school cafeteria kitchen, this is your night!!! 5th Grade Party: Planning is under way for the 5th Grade Party, being held at H on the Harbor on Wed. June 20th. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Seema Imberman or Cari Moon.

Portfest Parent Representative Needed: This year is the first HEARTS sponsored Portfest on May 16th at Schreiber. In the spirit of the Arts, school wide arts programs, including band, orchestra, drama, and others will be performing. Each school was asked to have an interactive tent where we provide an experience for donations. If you are interested in being Salem's representative during the planning and discussion of this, please contact Chris Nadolne; 944-3277; christirdh@aol.com. There will be a meeting on Feb. 16 at 9:00 am at the Daly Annex with Sheri Suzzan, the Director of Creative Arts.
