The ReesSpecht Life Program is dedicated to cultivating kindness and teaching children (and adults) how important community, kindness and respect are. Their goal is to try to make the world a better place - one piece at a time.

The students were amazing---we were so proud of each and every student! Each and every student received a kindness card so that they can help spread kindness throughout our community and beyond!

Food Allergy Awareness Week: Monday 10/5 - Friday 10/9

This week representatives from the Food Allergy Awareness Committee will visit each grade level at Salem. Through an interactive lesson plan they will give the students a better understanding of food allergies. They will also highlight the most common food allergens: milk, peanuts, eggs, tree nuts, wheat, fish, soy, shellfish, and sesame. Most importantly they will discuss with the students how to be a "PAL" (Protect A Life):
Never take food allergies lightly.
Do not tease a fellow classmate or make jokes about food allergies.
Do not share your food with classmates that have food allergies.
Wash your hands after you eat!
Ask your classmates what they are allergic to and help them avoid it.
If someone is showing signs of an allergic reaction get help immediately!
